Project Description

Summary:  View help for Summary The 2016 US Scientific Literacy Study is a national probability sample of US adult age 18 and older conducted by AmeriSpeak at the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago. The first was was conducted in February and March of 2016 and the second wave was conducted in November and December of 2016. This study measures civic scientific literacy, attitudes toward science and technology, and a wide range of information acquisition behaviors.

Methodology

Response Rate:  View help for Response Rate The weighted cumulative response rate for both waves is 14%.
Sampling:  View help for Sampling
The sample was selected by the NORC using a national listing of occupied residences compiled by the US Post Office. Respondents were selected on a probability basis to reflect the US adult population.
Data Source:  View help for Data Source Online surveys and telephone interviews conducted by AmeriSpeak, a national panel service operated by the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago.
