In this study, we introduced a systematic indexing framework to identify factors influencing the appraisal of multidisciplinary efforts. This framework is further enriched by expert-driven questionnaires, capturing domain-specific insights to determine the significance and interplay of these factors. Employing an improved Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) model, the study distills this data to pinpoint key influencing factors that can bolster review efficiency for multidisciplinary projects. The culmination of these efforts aims to provide pragmatic strategies and policy guidance, arming institutional entities and program leaders with the requisite tools to optimize the review process for multidisciplinary scientific research projects.
