Five news reports/articles/stories from each outlet. For example, 5 stories of "racial disparity" from CNN, 5 from NYT, etc.
Students (who collected and coded the data) were instructed to maximize variety in choosing the articles. The idea was to avoid having too many articles under the same topic, such as Covid or police shootings. it was OK to have two similar ones per news outlet but then skip to a different topic for the others (education, eviction, etc.).
