Project Description

Summary:  View help for Summary These data come from The USPS Workplace Mediation Program: REDRESS©. This program was created to provide mediation for complaints of discrimination under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which forbid race, national origin, gender, religion, age, disability, as well as sexual harassment and retaliation for raising discrimination claims (Bingham et al. 2009).

Included are variables derived from claimant exit surveys for the years 1997-1999 -- during which period a question regarding claim purview (e.g., race or sex discrimination) -- as well as mediator demographic characteristics taken from mediator surveys. All survey and mediator ID numbers have been anonymized but remain unique to each survey and mediator.

Data are uploaded here for access to any wishing to replicate our findings.
