The current study sought to establish whether adding a brief, home-visitation intervention (homeBase) to an existing, multi-component (child and teacher components) intervention, would improve social-emotional and behavioral outcomes for young children with challenging behavior in home and school settings who required intensive supports. The multi-component intervention, First Step to Success, is a fully manualized, Tier 2 intervention designed for students in preschool through second grade with disruptive behaviors (Walker et al., 2015).
