This project will evaluate micro-community resilience (or
resilience strategies among a group of individuals) among gender
minority individuals in Mecklenburg County; micro-community resilience
has implications for reducing health disparities for this
population. Resilience refers to how individuals, families,
organizations, and communities mobilize assets and resources to
mitigate the negative risks of adversity This includes a multi-method
design, with an initial community description and then in-person
semi-structured interviews (n=20) and online anonymous surveys (n=100)
conducted simultaneously.
